A second National Press Club luncheon was held in February to mark JHCPU’s silver anniversary and the publication of a special supplement on the Affordable Care Act, guest edited by Dr. Claudia Baquet and State Sen. Thomas ‘Mac’ Middleton of Maryland.
Major grant from the Aetna Foundation for a book of new work on the problem of obesity in underserved US populations. This book, whose lead editor is Virginia Brennan, working with fellow editors Dr. Shiriki Kumanyika and Dr. Ruth Enid Zambrana, is due out from JHUP in Fall 2014. Title: Obesity Interventions in Underserved Communities: Evidence and Directions. A third National Press Club luncheon is scheduled for Fall 2014 to mark the publication of the Obesity Interventions book.
