Clifton Orrin Dummett, Sr.JHCPU’s impact factor was .85. In the past, the impact factor had been ranked as high as 6th among all journals in social work; 26th in health policy and services; 24th in Public, Environmental, and Occupational Health. The impact factor of an academic journal is a measure reflecting the average number of citations to recent articles published in the journal.

Dr. Clifton Dummett, Sr., who had served as the former editor of the National Dental Association Journal and was a Professor of Dentistry at the University of Southern California, begins contributing to JHCPU regularly and becomes a valued advisor to the Journal. (Dr. Dummett died, after a world-class career, at the age of 92 in 2011.)

Dr. John Maupin completes his last year as President of Meharry Medical College. Dr. Maupin, who moved on to become President of Morehouse School of Medicine, had strengthened JHCPU with his firm backing of the Journal throughout his Presidency of Meharry.
